Hinterland Plein Air for Oil Painters Group

Our Mission is : To bring oil painters together in the Hinterland —sharing brushes, stories, and the life-changing magic that happens when oil paints meet canvas under open skies.

Group organiser Sylvie Carter convenes the paint outs, usually every second Friday of each month. Each paint out is at a designated location on the Sunshine Coast of Australia and the group has its own Face Book page where they post interesting stories, articles and event paint out dates and locations.

Local artists and visitors to the region are most welcome to join in. Artists bring their picnic lunch and refreshments so they can settle in for a full day of painting, just like the revolutionary Impressionists who abandoned their studios for the outdoors and chasing the perfect light
