Well exciting news, its now 3 days to be exact for my oil and watercolour exhibition at Rusten House, 87 Collett Street Queanbeyan (Open 10 – 4pm Wed – Sat).
‘Valleys Views and Vines Exhibition’. 1 – 22 October

Today I had a fabulous time, back in the beautiful and historic Rusten House Arts Centre . I was providing a 1 hour FREE watercolour demo for beginners. I started by giving a guide to my way of preparing to get set up and go painting outdoors with watercolour. Then we discussed the equipment in detail; talked about the primary colours; explored a bunch of what I call ‘bush gems’ which are items in nature, tried different brushes and lastly discussed the types of paper. This all mixed with my golden rule tips for beginners with some of the do’s and the don’ts to remember.

Teaching watercolour is not something I usually do. It is probably the hardest of mediums to teach anyone, however I was delighted to offer my FREE artist talk and watercolour demonstration today as part of my community engagement activity at Rusten House. What a great way to close my exhibition at Rusten, with only three days to go. My thanks to those who came along, I wish you many more happy hours with your paints and brushes.
