The Wallace Atelier

This week I finished my first ten weeks with an amazing bunch of artists working together at Wallace House in Noosa.

I have been thinking for a while about how this group connects so well and what makes our group work. And I came to the conclusion that we are all extremely respectful of one another’s journey and each other. Some of the individuals in our group are very new to Life Drawing and others have been sketching for many years and other have studied in some of the best art schools in the world. So basically a great mix of people to be alongside. We all enjoy a good laugh and a good model that can hold the pose. Another standing feature of our founding group is our ability to focus and share a deep appreciation for incorporating perspective and effects into life drawings to create a sense of atmosphere, depth, mood, and emotion. We look for rich and meaningful connections for inspiration and believe that life drawing should be about more, than just accurately representing the human form; it’s about conveying the feeling of the scene and the relationship of the figure to its environment.

Thus the creation of The Wallace Atelier, a group of artists with a like minded passion to create works that move us and hopefully others at the same time.
